dancing

While I dance I cannot judge. I cannot hate. I cannot seperate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. That is why I dance! --Hans Bos

Dancing is a new hobbie of mine. I've decided I'll keep track of my advancement.
It all started on a Saturday night. After seeing people dance I decided I want to learn too. I've had this decision over and over again in the past 4 months, but this time I decided I'm gonna really do it. *smile*

      DayDateDancesMy feelings
      Monday 7.9.98 a song I didn't recognize

"another one bites the dust" by Queen

      Waltz
I went over with 2 friends, Limor (a girl) and Dudi (a guy). The first dance was easy and I really enjoyed my self, jumping around and dancing :-)
The second dance was much harder, and the instructor said it was a bit difficult for begginers. Nevertheless, I had a great time and did a good job following the steps and dancing. I felt great :-)
Waltzing time...It was really hard. After we got over the steps we couldn't manage to spin right. The instructor said we will learn more on Saturday.
      Wednesday 9.9.98 an Israeli song

The theme song of the TV show "Friends"

      Tango
Both dances were really hard. The songs were too fast for me at the beginning, and the good feeling I had on Monday slowly disappeared. We didn't quite manage the Tango either, but after some practice we could move along with the music quite well. I also managed to dance the first 2 dances much better after I tried a few times. practice, practice, and again, practice....
It was still fun though :-)
Saturday 12.9.98 I missed the Beginners class, so haven't learned any new dances. I got to the Technion at 22:00, and made it just to the more advanced part - the party. Limor didn't come, and me and Dudi danced the few dances we knew.
      Monday 14.9.98 L'ombelico Del Mondo

Men in Black - Wil Smith

      Rock'n'Roll
I had a LOT of fun!!! :-) we finally learned how to do the Rock'n'Roll and the other 2 dances we learned were great too :-)
Wednesday 16.9.98 "The lion sleeps tonight"

      "Every breath you take"

      Paso Doble
The first 2 dances were easy and fun :-) we are starting to get the hang of everything here , and added another type of couples dance to our resume'. I went back to my room very tired, but happy....
Wednesday 23.9.98 "what's love gotta do with it" - Warren G

      "Everybody" - Backstreet Boys

      Slow
This time Dudi didn't stay for the party because he had a test the day after. I stayed and danced with several guys I knew (Ar non, Doron, Meir). It was raining this day so we had the party and the teaching in a different place.
      Saturday 26.9.98 a song I can't remember (fiesta?!)

we learned the MIB dance again

      Cha-Cha-Cha
Another couples dance to our resume! :-)
Monday 28.9.98 "Hit the road Jack"

"New York New York" - Frank Sinatra

      Mambo - Salsa
      mmmm...Salsa......what a dance.
We know how to dance almost everything (in couples dances), and now practice on the spinning and making ourselves look better while in action :-)
This time we brought with us a bottle of water and a towel. Allow me to praise myself for a grand idea!
Wednesday 30.9.98 There was no teaching, just the party. I returned to the Technion after the Yom Kipur Fast. The party began at 22:00. I was very tired so me and Dudi sat a lot and looked at the people who danced.
After this dance, me and Dudi became a couple. More about this in our homepage.
Saturday 17.10.98 We made it to the party only. After more than 2 weeks without dancing, it was nice doing so again :-) and this time...as a couple.
Monday 19.10.98 River Dance (Irish tune)

Marenge' (if this is the way to write this...)
I was feeling kinda sick so we stayed for the beginners part only.
We learned the River Dance. The song is an Irish tune, and the dance is composed of lotsa jumping and such. Lovely, but very tiring. (Dudi loved it).
The Marenge' was great too. It's a cool dance and Dudi learned some new ways to spin me all over the place ;-)
Wednesday 21.10.98 River Dance (yep, AGAIN) PARTY!!!!! at the Technion :-) The semester just began and that's a reason for some celebration :-)
We had a lot of fun dancing like mad. I had my high-heeled shoes on. BIG mistake ;-) I could hardly stand on my feet at the end of the evening....
Monday 26.10.98 "Diva" - Dana International

      "Everybody" - Backstreet Boys, AGAIN

      Rock'n'Roll, AGAIN
Liat, a friend of Dudi's came to visit and dance with us.
Wednesday 18.11.98 "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (AGAIN)
"Lemon Dance" (a Remix of the song "Lemon Tree")
      Salsa
That "lemon dance" is a dance with a lot of jumping...I remained air-less in the middle. Learning Salsa again was good, we needed to remember the moves. All in all it was an OK night.
