My Comfy Couch Library

I always liked to read. My mom used to buy me books when I was a child and read to me. I mostly tore up the books or drew on them in that age...but I guess something soaked :-)
My mom taught me how to read before I reached the 1st grade, and since then I never stopped actually. There were times when I could finish up 5 books in a day. Now, well, I'm a little bit too busy for that, but I still read a few pages every night in bed, before I go to sleep.

In this room I want to introduce to you my favorite authors and my favorite books. I will also include some texts of several books, so you can read them on-line. That will take a bit of time though.

          ~ My Books List ~

It will be hard for me to explain which kind of books I like to read. I like the classical children's books, I dislike sci-fi. I like books that interest me, open my mind, make me remember them, make me think, leave an impression. I don't like romantic and kitchy novels.

I haven't included here books originally written in Hebrew, but I have included books originally written in other languages than English.

This list will be updated in time.

          E.M. Forster
He is one of my favorite authors.

Books of his I've read (originally written in English):

          • Maurice (read in Hebrew, looking for the English version).
          • A room with a view (read in Hebrew, looking for the English version)
          • A Passage to India (read in Hebrew).
          • Howards End (read in English)

I especially liked "Maurice" and "A room with a view". These were also the first books of Forster that I have read. The movies that were made according to them were great too (Actually, I read Maurice after I've seen the movie and loved it).

          Italo Calvino
He is one of my favorite authors as well. I don't know how to discribe his books. In a word: Magnificent!

I read this book in English. I just loved Jane's character. I loved reading her thoughts and trying to imagine the views she discribes in the book.

No, I didn't take this book as a romantic love-affair etc etc etc (as many do). In my opinion, This is a book about a very special and strong woman, that's why I liked it so much.
