Tripod offers 11 MB of web space, but only one account for each e-mail
address. The file manager is very easy to handle and you can create
sub-directories. You can create your page by yourself or use a
templates program called "Quick Page". You can join "pods" which are groups of homepages
that share the same subject.
Tripod offers a free guestbook (from GuestWorld), a free counter, a
virtual answering machine, photos and help.
When entering a Tripod page a small pop-up window will appear.
- Geocities

Geocities offers 11 MB of web space and a free email address. You
have to start creating your page 2 weeks after registering or your
account will be closed.
Geocities offers a guestbook, a counter, web help and more stuff.
You can edit and create files using the file manager, which is quite
easy to use, and you can create sub-directories. You can join
"avenues" which are groups of sites with the same subject (like "pods" in Tripod).
When entering a Geocities page a small pop-up window will
appear. Each page has a "Geocities" watermark too.
- Xoom
Your homepage address will look like this:

Xoom offers 11 MB of web space and a free email address. There are 2
ways to create your page in Xoom: you have to either create it by yourself
off-line and upload it to your account or to use their Easy Builder.
To edit or manage your files you can use the Easy-Builder's File
Manager.
You can also join communities. Xoom offers clip-art pictures.
- Fortune City

Fortune city offers 20 MB of web space and a free email address. You can
create your page by yourself or use the "HomeBuilder".
There is a "Fortune City" add at the top of each page.
When you register for membership, you'll be asked to fill out a
large form, including your interests, and a draft homepage will be
made for you, counter included.
- Talk City
Your homepage address will look like this:
http://www.talkcity.com/street name/your account name
Talk city will create your homepage for you. Each community has her
own subjects, and when you register you will fill out a form
with your interests, which will be shown on your page, counter included.
Talk City offers many Chat rooms and backgrounds for your page.
I think you can create only one page in your site. There is a
Talk City add at the top of the page.
- Main Quad
Your homepage address will look like this:

Main Quad offers 3 MB of space. You build your page using the Web
Creator. There's a file manager, editor for experts (those who know
HTML) and for standarts (those who doesn't). You can use graphics or
sound from the Main Quad Library too. You can also create sub-directories.
When you register you also get an email address, address book and calander.
This company is ment for USA students to join, but you can
register even if you are not one.
- gURL
Your homepage address will look like this:

gURL offers 5MB of space, a guestbook (from BeSeen.Com) and images. You can either use their
templates or write your own HTML.
When entering a gURL member page a pop-up window will appear.
- Easy Space
Your homepage address will look like this:
http://account name.future.easyspace.com
Easy Space offers 50 MB of space. On each page appears an advertisement banner.
- The Globe
Your homepage address will look like this:

The Globe offers 6 MB of space and a free email address.
